Free eBooks at Wowio.com
I'm really liking this website. They have a wide variety of books in all genre's. You won't find Steven King or Dean Koontz here; but you will find some interesting reads.
They download as pdf's. The site adds a page to the book with their website and a sponsor (sometimes Verizon). Other than that, the books are well formatted and convert easily using the Adobe Reader for Palm OS so I can read them on my Palm PDA.
The site requires an email address from a registered domain; you won't be able to use hotmail or yahoo mail. Once your account is created you can set up a download queue of all the books you ultimately want to download. There is a download limit of 3 books per day.
One shortfall of the queue they use...when a book is in your download queue and you come across that book while browsing the site, it will say, "In Queue" and gray out the "Add To Download Queue" button. Fine. Once you download the book, it leaves your queue; should you come across that book again, it won't tell you that you had already downloaded it. It will let you put it in your queue again to re-download. Other than that...can't really complain for the price.

Free CRM Package---SplendidCRM
In business for yourself? Do sales? SplendidCRM has a free trial of their web hosted customer resource management (CRM) software. It's not really a trial. You can use it as long as you wish; they just don't guarantee it. It has a very nice tabbed layout. Couldn't really find any documentation (it's an open source product based on SugarCRM).
Go to the SplendidCRM website and click the Free Trial button (don't make the mistake I did and download the software...you want the free web-hosted version). On the next screen, click "Create private hosted trial...". Enter your information into the form. They'll send you an activation email and you're on your way.

RapidTyping: Freeware Typing Tutor
Looks like a decent typing program (folks over at Lifehacker.com get credit for finding this one). This is a freeware typing tutor.
Probably one of the most useful classes I took back in high school was my typing class. This is a skill that is a necessity now-a-days. Every incoming college student should consider improving their typing skills to save time later. Of course all of us working in an office setting need the skill.
Here is the link: RapidTyping Tutor.

Visit StartSampling.com for Free Samples, Free Magazines and More
A good site to sign up for is StartSampling.com. The site offers many sponsored giveaways. You'll see offers for samples (pain relievers, cereal, etc.), coupons, magazines (often full year subscriptions).
I always recommend before signing up for anything like this on the internet (ad supported) is to sign up for an email account that you don't really care if it gets spammed. I've been using a Hotmail account for years now and I actually don't get to much spam in it; I think Microsoft has some good junk mail filtering for Hotmail.

Welcome to Thrifty Living!
Well, it was inevitable. Everybody that knows me shouldn't be surprised that I started a blog such as this. Deals, freeware, rebates, coupons, sites with giveaways...if there is a deal or a free alternative out there I go out of my way to find it. Obviously, there is too much available on the internet, so I have to pare it down to what interests me (and the readers of this blog...if any;-)). I'm certainly looking for new items of interest, so please comment with your finds.
